RSM Fuel Services are seeking a driven and results-focused Business Development Manager to spearhead growth across key industry sectors. This role is vital to RSM’s long-term strategy and will play a critical role in identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities across the UK fuel infrastructure and maintenance market.

The successful candidate will combine commercial awareness with technical understanding of the fuel industry to target new opportunities, support existing enquiries, and build lasting client relationships. This is a proactive, hybrid role ideal for someone with a strong network and a passion for sales and service development.

Salary: £35,000 – 45,000 OTE

Role & Responsibilities.

  • New Business Generation:
    Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in both public and private sectors.
    Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned to RSM’s core services and growth objectives.
    Attend site visits and partner / supplier meetings to promote RSM’s capabilities and increase commercial opportunity.

  • Client Relationship Management:
    Develop strong relationships with clients, partners, and contractors across target markets.
    Act as a direct point of contact to clients, understanding their operational challenges and presenting technical solutions.
    Support handover of new contracts to the project and delivery teams, ensuring clear client expectations and technical scopes.

  • Tendering & Quoting Support:
    Collaborate with the estimating and project management teams to support tender responses and pricing submissions.
    Prepare commercial proposals and technical sales documentation, with a focus on added value and return on investment for the client.

  • Account Growth & Retention:
    Develop existing accounts to maximise revenue and introduce additional service offerings.
    Support long-term service agreements, frameworks, and maintenance contracts through active account engagement.

  • Reporting & Targets:
    Report monthly on pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and performance against agreed KPIs.
    Contribute to quarterly reviews and board-level reporting on sales and commercial activity.

  • Skills, Knowledge, and Experience.

  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or account management within fuel, M&E, or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of fuel systems, maintenance services, and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify, present, and close profitable opportunities.
  • Confident communicator and negotiator with experience in B2B sales.
  • Comfortable working nationally and managing client visits/site meetings across the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
